Andorra Clone is a country-scale digital twin and scenario exploration platform being developed to help Andorra better understand and plan for its future. The project brings together public, governmental, and spatial data into a unified, interactive system that models how social, economic, environmental, and infrastructure conditions may evolve under different long-term futures. Rather than predicting a single outcome, the platform is designed to compare alternative trajectories—such as growth, stagnation, densification, or environmental stress- and make the trade-offs between them visible in a structured and transparent way.
At its core, the project includes a scenario engine that harmonizes multi-source national indicators and updates them through explicit, interpretable relationships across domains such as population, housing, tourism, land use, emissions, water demand, energy needs, and public service capacity. This allows the system to generate internally consistent futures that can support planning, policy evaluation, and infrastructure stress testing in a small-country context where data is often fragmented and conventional forecasting tools are less effective.
Andorra Clone is also intended as a foundation for more advanced simulation layers. Beyond macro-level scenario modeling, the broader vision is to connect this system to interactive visualizations, human-in-the-loop decision tools, and eventually agent-based simulations that can explore how people, institutions, and urban systems might respond under different conditions. In that sense, the project is not just a digital representation of Andorra, but a decision-support framework for discussing possible futures in a more evidence-based, comparative, and actionable way.
