Our Community, Our Standards

How the MIT Media Lab fosters open, respectful dialogue across our social media channels

The MIT Media Lab believes in the power of open, respectful dialogue. Our social media channels are spaces for meaningful conversation about research, innovation, and the ideas shaping our collective future. Everyone is welcome here...and everyone is expected to contribute thoughtfully and constructively.

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for hate speech and profanity. Content deemed harmful, harassing, discriminatory, threatening, libelous, or otherwise inappropriate will be removed immediately. Repeat violations will result in being blocked from our community, without notice.

If you have a concern or complaint, we encourage you to reach out directly via private message. We are committed to resolving issues quickly and thoughtfully, and prefer to do so away from the public forum.

Trolling , the deliberate posting of inflammatory, irrelevant, or offensive content designed to provoke, will not be tolerated. We will not engage with trolling behavior publicly. Instead, we will act decisively to protect the integrity of our community.

All content posted by others on our platforms reflects the views of individual authors and does not represent the opinions of MIT Media Lab.

Thank you for the conversations you bring and for your role in keeping this a safe, dynamic, and inspiring space for our global community.
