David is a communications and marketing executive who combines art and science by placing the creative elements of storytelling and design at the very heart of strategic plans, while using analytics technologies to make data-driven decisions to optimize programs and processes.

Previously, David was Director of Communications at the MIT Office of Innovation, where—in addition to working cross-Institute to support, engage, and inspire MIT’s community of innovators and entrepreneurs—he developed the brand identity and creative strategies, tactics, and execution for MIT’s new home for innovators, MIT InnovationHQ.

David's career at MIT began in 2012, when, after 20 years in corporate marketing and communications with companies including Scholastic Entertainment, and Disney & ESPN Media Networks, he joined MIT Technology Review. Here, he oversaw the global media organization’s communications, media relations, and event and content marketing operations, and was a part of the team that led TR through its rebrand and digital transition.

David is active in MIT’s LBGTQ Community, having served as a Rainbow Compass mentor and as a member of the LBGTQ Employee Resource Group . His loves include cooking and eating, theater, the marching arts, and rescue dogs.
