Siddharth Somasundaram

Graduate Student
  • Camera Culture

I am a PhD student at the MIT Media Lab in Cambridge, MA, working with Ramesh Raskar in the Camera Culture group. The goal of my research is to build computer vision systems that can see beyond the capabilities of ordinary cameras. My current interests are in single-photon and time-of-flight imaging, with applications in 3D vision, low-light, high-speed, and non-line-of-sight imaging.

I am an NSF Graduate Fellow, and my work has been recognized at top computer conferences including CVPR, ICCP, TPAMI, and Optics Express. My work was the recipient of a Best Paper Finalist Award at CVPR 2024 (Top 0.8%, 11,532 submissions).

Previously, I completed my Bachelors at UCLA Electrical Engineering in 2021. During this time, I worked with Diana Huffaker on semiconductor devices and Achuta Kadambi on computational imaging. I also interned at The Aerospace Corporation and HRL Laboratories.
