Andrea Lauer

Andrea Lauer is based in New York City and works internationally to produce multi-media experiences focused on the transformation of the human body and emerging technologies for designers. With technical expertise in sensors systems, electronics, and materials science, she’s a guest lecturer at the New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and the University Massachusetts Amherst. Ongoing collaborations include Meow Meow, Pilobolus Dance Theatre, the McCann Worldgroup, NYU Langone Medical Center, and choreographer Elizabeth Streb. Lauer’s credits as a stylist include Rolling Stone, American Vogue, Interview, Nylon, Paper, and OUT magazine. Her creations have also appeared at the Grammy Awards and in Broadway productions, including American Idiot and Bring It On. She is the co-founder of an all-female art collective that produced “Brick X Brick,” an anti-misogyny public art performance which has been inducted into the New York Historical Archives. She is the founder and Chief Creative Officer of Risen from the Thread, a design-thinking, product development, and innovation agency focused on the human body and its relationship with technology. Its client categories include fashion, marketing, fine art, medicine, sports, and entertainment.
