- Fluid Interfaces researcher Valdemar Danry presented his work “Organs without Bodies." He was also invited to participate in a panel on AI art.
- Opera of the Future researcher Manaswi Mishra, alongside co-creators, exhibited "Tales of the Hair" at CVPR's AI Art Gallery.
PlatoNeRF: 3D Reconstruction in Plato's Cave via Single-View Two-Bounce Lidar
This work from the Camera Culture group, being presented at CVPR this year, demonstrates a system that leverages shadows to model 3D scenes, including objects blocked from view. This technique could lead to safer autonomous vehicles, more efficient AR/VR headsets, or faster warehouse robots. Read more about this project in the related MIT News article.
