Whispers Of The Mountain is a sensor system mounted on snow skis. The system allows for crowdsourcing environmental data of mountains.
The system can record 6 axis accelerations, GPS coordinates, temperature, atmospheric pressure, ambient humidity, and distributed surface forces. We aim to record data that could help experts describe different materials, terrain conditions, and equipment usage patterns. In order to understand and analyze the recorded data, a 3D geo-spatial visualization tool was developed.
