Andres is a graduate student from Mexico City at the MIT Media Lab with a background in Robotics, AI and Innovation. His main research goal is to understand ways in which we can better develop our urban sensing infrastructure.

As an undergraduate student, he co-founded an innovation firm (OGMA D+I) and was a member of MITʼs Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program in Monterrey, Mexico where he worked with city stakeholders on the development of the regionʼs innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities.

His current work at MIT is focused on the development of low-cost, distributed and opportunistic sensor networks. The sensors and algorithms have the goal of enabling bottom-up community based insights that can improve future cities's socio-environmental performance.
