Scratch, a coding platform for children, was developed by the Lifelong Kindergarten group at the Media Lab in 2007. Since then, the platform has gained 100 million users worldwide, becoming the world's largest free coding community for kids.
Kids use Scratch to program their own interactive stories, games, and animations—and share their creations in an active online community. In the process, they are learning to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively, while also learning important mathematical and computational ideas.
