A research team including Dr. Svetlana Boriskinaof the MIT Mechanical Engineering department and Ikra Shuvo of the MIT Media Lab—alongside Duo Xu and Xianglin Ji of MIT and Raul Fangueiro from Universidade do Minho, Portugal—has been awarded a 2024 seed grant from the MIT Portugal Program for their proposal titled "Ocean-derived pollution-reducing fabrics for healthcare and space applications."
