Two Media Lab spinoff companies have made Fast Company's 2024 list of the World's Most Innovative Companies, which includes a Top 50 list and recognition in specific industry sectors. The following Media Lab spinoffs were recognized:

• Butlr (Workplace category): "For helping make workspaces better based on real data."
• Formlabs (Manufacturing category): "For enabling 3D printers, even in separate locations, to work in formation."

C16 Biosciences, whose founders met at the Media Lab, was also recognized in the Consumer Goods category.
