Leonard Francis Vibbi, a graduate student at the MIT Media Lab and research assistant at MIT GOV/LAB, has been selected as a Governance Innovation Research Fellow for a new cross-Institute initiative between MIT Governance Lab, MISTI, and the Priscilla King Gray Public Service Center. The initiative aims to support graduate student work in public sector innovation.
During the summer, Leonard will be based in Nairobi, Kenya to conduct research on the ethics related to the collection, use, and dissemination of citizen data by governments and governance technologies. Additionally, his research will focus on understanding data context, management, ethics, and protection practices that safeguard individuals' rights and privacy.
