Essence Wearables, a project created by Fluid Interfaces alum and research affiliate Judith Amores, with collaborators Mae Dotan, Artem Dementyev, Javier Hernandez, and Yanan Wang, has been chosen as a finalist under the Personal Technology category of the 2021 Edison Awards. The gold, silver, and bronze winners will be announced at the 2021 Edison Awards Gala in Fort Myers, Florida on April 22, 2021. 

Essence Wearables release short bursts of fragrance based on physiological signals such as heart rate and respiration rate. These devices connect to a smartphone app that controls the choice, intensity, and frequency of the scent delivery. These wearable devices are personal, lightweight, and can improve wellbeing.
