The World Economic Council (WEF) Global Future Councils convene more than 1000 of the most relevant and knowledgeable thought leaders from academia, government, international organizations, business and civil society, grouped in expertise-based thematic councils. It is an invitation-only community and members are nominated for a one-year period. WEF organizes the work of the Global Future Council into sectoral themes that discuss opportunities for private sector action to propel progress. One of the Global Future Councils focuses on the space sector.
Dr Minoo Rathnasabapathy continues her services on the Global Future Council on Space to explore critical challenges for the sector, such as the need for new governance frameworks, new forms of public-private collaboration and a greater understanding of the sector’s socio-economic impact. The council will continue to support the development and launch of the Space Sustainability Rating (SSR) as well as consider the future of Space Situational Awareness (SSA) to ensure sustainable growth in activity in Earth orbits.
