Congratulations to Pratik Shah on being selected as a 2019 TED Senior Fellow

MIT Media Lab Principal Investigator and Principal Research Scientist Pratik Shah has been selected as a TED 2019 Senior Fellow. Pratik's research creates novel intersections between engineering, medical imaging, machine learning, and medicine to improve health outcomes for patients. His peer-reviewed and published research findings have demonstrated the impact of unorthodox artificial intelligence and machine learning architectures on assisting physicians in providing better care to patients. Pratik was a 2017 TED fellow and his TED talk "How AI is making it easier to diagnose disease" posted on has received more than 1.2 million views.

The TED Fellows program supports extraordinary, iconoclastic individuals at work on world-changing projects. This year’s TED Fellows class represents 12 countries across four continents; they’re leaders in their fields—ranging from astrodynamics to policing to conservation and beyond—and they’re looking for new ways to collaborate and address today’s most complex challenges. Senior Fellows embody the spirit of the TED Fellows program. They mentor new fellows and continue to share their remarkable work with the TED community.

Pratik has a BS, MS, and PhD in biological sciences and completed fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital, the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, and Harvard Medical School.
