Zander leads the OpenAg™ Tree Computer projects. These robotic greenhouses identify and optimize climatic and nutritional conditions for tree growth and productive yield. Using optics-based machine learning, the Tree Computer cultivates ideal plant development through adjustments to photosynthetic intensity and spectral ranges, wind velocity and relative humidity, ground and ambient temperatures, and nutritional levels and ratios.
As an architect, educator, and project manager, Zander's work includes a broad portfolio of award-winning projects, ranging from boat building and residential design, to educational master planning and sky scraper construction. He has also spent time teaching and developing citizen science curricula, targeting marine and terrestrial conservation.
