- MIT Center for Constructive Communication
As head of programs at MIT’s Center for Constructive Communication (CCC), Russell focuses on developing opportunities for CCC to create social impact through its research and prototyping work. Russell worked with CCC director Deb Roy to launch the center – then known as the Lab for Social Machines – in 2014.
Russell is co-founder of Cortico, a closely affiliated nonprofit collaborator of CCC that develops, operates and supports a conversation platform designed to surface underheard voices and perspectives and create scalable dialogue networks
Before joining MIT, Russell spent 15 years at the strategic communications agency SS+K, advising brand, political and non-profit clients. He holds an M.P.P. from Harvard’s Kennedy School and a B.A. in government from Dartmouth College.
