Michael, or Mikey, is a first-year graduate student in the mechanical engineering department at MIT. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon with a BS in mechanical engineering and biomedical engineering in May 2020. While at CMU, Mikey was a member of the Experimental Biomechatronics Lab, where he sought to compare and optimize exoskeleton control strategies for metabolic benefits. He later worked in the Biorobotics group on trajectory planning and tracking for a highly actuated legged robot. Now in the Biomechatronics group, he is working to improve neural control and sensing for prostheses in upper extremity amputees.
