Arwa Michelle Mboya

Arwa is a virtual reality programmer and researcher studying imagination and the implications of immersive technology on the imagination. She builds economic models to investigate the socio-economic effects of enhanced imagination. She's  interested in using science, art, and play to instigate radical civic imagination in young people in Africa. 

Arwa gradated from Yale with a degree in economics and film studies and uses both skill sets to inform her community-oriented work. She lead the first Pan-Africa AR/VR Hackathon in Nairobi and is working on an immersive dome that uses data from an Empatica to inform environmental changes in the space.

Arwa is from Kenya and loves ocean exploration and extreme sports.
