Dünya Baradari

Graduate Student
  • Fluid Interfaces

Dünya is a transdisciplinary scientist and engineer dedicated to augmenting human connection through technology. Her mission is to bridge the gaps between individuals, communities, and the world.

Her research areas are human digital twinspersonal analytics, and neuroadaptive brain-computer interfaces (BCIs). She is passionate about digital footprints and wearables that give (real-time) context to AI systems to improve learning, mental well-being, and productivity. Her extended interests include automated science, data ownership, and decentralized AI.

Dünya founded and leads the Augmentation Lab, a global and Boston-based community of philosopher-builders who aim to use intelligence to create new things and wisdom to choose the right things to create. There, she has organized three summer residencies on human augmentation, supporting over 45 builders, ran events with 10+ partner communities, and started the Sustainable Technology Goals project.

Dünya holds a BSc in Biomedical Sciences with a specialization in Neuroscience from University College London (UCL) and an ongoing MSc in Bioinformatics from the University of Leipzig. Her past work has touched upon disciplines including biology, computer science, neuroeconomics, China studies, economics, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.
