For nearly 50 years, researchers from around the world have converged in Boston for the preeminent materials event of the year—the MRS Fall Meeting. Due to COVID-19, this year’s meeting is being held virtually. The virtual meeting includes a broad range of topics, including: General Interest (GI), Broader Impact (BI), Electronics and Optics (EL), Energy (EN), Flexible, Wearable Electronics, Textiles and Sensors (FL), Materials Theory, Characterization and Data Science (MT), Nanomaterials and Quantum Materials (NM), Soft Materials and Biomaterials (SM) and Structural and Functional Materials (SF).

The Materials Research Society (MRS) was established in 1973 by a visionary group of scientists who shared the belief that a new interdisciplinary organization was needed. Today MRS is a growing, vibrant member-driven organization of over 14,000 materials researchers from academia, industry, and government, and a recognized leader in the advancement of interdisciplinary materials research. Headquartered in Warrendale, Pennsylvania (USA), MRS membership now spans over 80 countries.
