Ilham Ali, one of the co-founders of ZAHARA for Education, was featured along with her fellow co-founder and the organization in a recent MIT News article, "Ice melts on US-Sudan relations, providing new opportunities."  ZAHARA for Education  is an education initiative founded and led by MIT graduate student Ilham Ali and Harvard alumna Sahar Omer, whose primary goal is to expand educational opportunities between the USA and Sudan.

The article quotes Ali in part: "Our main mission is to expand educational opportunities between the United States and Sudan," Ali says. "We hope to host GTL in Sudan annually and have students from MIT visit the country once travel resumes. ZAHARA is also continuing to work on several innovative ways to bring students from the U.S. and Sudan together and to provide educational opportunities for youth, in particular."
