Table-Top NMR

Traditional NMR spectrometers are powerful and versatile, but cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and are complicated to operate. We are working on designing a table-top NMR system based on small permanent magnets and specialized electronics with a target price of around a thousand dollars. The original motivation for this was table-top quantum computing, but simple inexpensive NMR spectrometers would be broadly useful in medicine and other fields.
