Two papers written by members of the Signal Kinetics group won the Best Paper Awards at MobiCom 2023, hosted in Madrid, Spain this week. MobiCom is the annual conference sponsored by ACM SIGMOBILE dedicated to addressing the challenges in the areas of mobile computing and wireless and mobile networking.
The winning papers are:
- "The Underwater Backscatter Channel: Theory, Link Budget, and Experimental Validation," by Waleed Akbar, Ahmed Allam, and Fadel Adib
- "AgriTera: Accurate Non-Invasive Fruit Ripeness Sensing via Sub-Terahertz Wireless Signals," by Sayed Saad Afzal, in collaboration with Atsutse Kludze, Subhajit Karmakar, and Yasaman Ghasempour from Princeton University and Ranveer Chandra from Microsoft
At the conference, group head Professor Fadel Adib also accepted the 2023 ACM SIGMOBILE Test-of-Time Award for his 2013 paper, “See Through Walls with WiFi!”, co-authored with MIT EECS Professor Dina Katabi.
