On June 8, 2023, a delegation from the University of Guadalajara (UdeG) visited the MIT Media Lab to meet with faculty and researchers regarding the team's ongoing research. UdeG is currently collaborating with the City Science group as a member of the City Science Network. The City Science Lab @ Guadalajara is focused on education without barriers by creating  evidence-based decision making tools within communities. 

During the visit, President Ricardo Villanueva gave a talk titled Social Responsibility in Higher Education: UdeG, The Case of a Macro University in an Era of Hyper-Technology. The presentation was attended by the City Science team, members of the Media Lab and the broader MIT and Harvard communities. President Ricardo emphasized the importance of the university in society and the necessity for ethical, humanistic values in an era of hyper-technology and “macro universities.”

Additionally, the delegation which included President Ricardo Villanueva, (President of the University of Guadalajara), Carlos Ivan Moreno Arellano (Chief Academic and Innovation Officer at the University of Guadalajara), Mayra Eugenia Gamboa González (Director of the City Science Lab), Valeria Padilla Navarro ( Internationalization Coordinator), Yésica Zacarías Figueroa (Protocol Office of the President) met with Kent Larson, Luis Alonso, Sandy Pentland, Kim Slater, researchers from MIT City Science and Human Dynamics and toured the MIT.nano facility and the MIT Media Lab. 

The City Science Network  aims to enable more livable, equitable, and resilient communities in a global scope. Research with the City Science Lab @Guadalajara and other network nodes is ongoing and teams hope to address transnational problems such as climate change and public health from an urban perspective.
