At MIT Technology Review's EmTech AI 2025 event, Hossein Rahnama explored how intelligent agents can enhance context, cognition, and collaboration.

During EmTech AI 2025, Visiting Associate Professor Hossein Rahnama presented new research on perspective-aware AI systems designed to work alongside people by learning from their behavior, understanding context, and adapting to individual values.

The sAIpien Program, focuses on building data structures and interaction models for agentic AI. These agents—described as “chronicles”—can reason across time, support decision-making, and operate in the background to reduce cognitive load.

Through real-world applications in healthcare, enterprise collaboration, and education, Rahnama demonstrated how AI could augment human capabilities without replacing them. He called for a new “AI spectrum” to support responsible deployment and emphasized the importance of transparency, auditability, and literacy in building public trust.

Rather than viewing AI as a replacement for human intelligence, Rahnama’s work envisions a future of dynamic collaboration—where intelligent systems empower people to work more effectively, think more clearly, and connect more meaningfully.
