Professor Danielle Wood, who directs the Space Enabled research group, and alum Dr. Joy Buolamwini are among the MIT community members featured in The Genius Within, a new public art installation in Kendall Square (Cambridge, Massachusetts).
Designed by Innovators for Purpose (iFp) in collaboration with MIT, the 7.5-foot rotating aluminum tower at One Broadway uses mirrored panels to invite viewers to “see the genius within.” The installation honors Kendall Square’s diverse innovators and includes a tribute to the late Ronald McNair and many others , who were active in the Cambridge community and helped Kendall Square become known as the most innovative square mile on the planet.
