What if Le Corbusier had AI?

After World War II, Le Corbusier proposed a bold vision for rebuilding the French city of Saint-Dié. But what if he had access to today's tools: agent-based simulations, digital twins, mobility modeling, environmental analysis, and generative AI?

Could he have tested how people move, behave, and experience the city before it was built? Would AI have led to a more adaptive and human-centered design, or pushed his vision even further?

Prof. Kent Larson , Director of the MIT City Science Center, will be giving a keynote lecture at AI × Cities 2026: "Agents of Reconstruction".

Exploring how simulation, AI, and digital technologies are transforming the way we plan, test, and shape cities before construction even begins.
