Alexis Hope shares her thoughts on the Media Lab's panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2018

Comic-Con was an amazing opportunity to share our work at the Lab outside of traditional academic venues. We talked about visions for more inclusive technology design processes, exploring the deep sea, advancing social justice on earth through space technology, and the comics and science fiction that inspire us to build a better future. I talked about a few storytelling projects I’ve worked on at the Lab: Sensory Fiction and FOLD, as well as our efforts with the Breast Pump Hackathon to invite more people to the table for conversations about technology design.

It was my first time giving a talk while wearing a costume — I dressed up as Shade the Changing Girl, from one of my favorite comics!
