"Imaginary Atlas, Amazônia" has been named a finalist in the Best in Environmental Impact category at the 2026 Games for Change Awards. The project was developed by Gabriela Bilá, a Brazilian architect, artist, and researcher at the City Science group, in cooperation with Quanta, a Brazil-based cinema technology studio.

"Imaginary Atlas, Amazônia" is an immersive installation and long-term research project that explores how Amazonian cities may evolve in a post-climate future. Set in Belém do Pará in the year 2125, the project invites audiences to navigate a city reshaped by rising waters, seasonal rhythms, and alternative urban ecologies.

Bilá is the creator of The Imaginary Atlas, an evolving body of immersive installations that investigates climate adaptation, cultural knowledge, and emerging technologies as tools to reimagine cities. Through teaching and collaborative research, her work positions fiction as a method to engage collective imagination and shape alternative climate futures aligned with lived realities.

Games for Change is a nonprofit organization dedicated to harnessing games and immersive media for social impact. The 2026 finalists were selected from 42 countries, with winners to be revealed at the G4C Awards Ceremony on July 21 at The Glasshouse in New York City.
