- Lifelong Kindergarten
Hello!
My name is Marian Muthui and I'm from Nairobi, Kenya. I’m passionate about impacting communities through user-centered research to inform the development of equitable and innovative products and technologies. In Lifelong Kindergarten, my research is focused on developing playful tools for young makers in Africa to support learning in order to enhance skills development and improve access to meaningful work.
I’m also the co-founder of Mekatilili, which is a maker program that conducts hands-on workshops on human-centered design, digital fabrication, physical computing, computer science, and professional development. The goal of the program is to provide creative learning opportunities for youth in Africa to improve technical expertise, nurture innovation and to build creative confidence.
