After graduation, Dietmar continued studying cities and technology at MIT, working on informality, urban governance, and political implications of new technologies. Currently, he is an assistant professor at Northeastern University in the departments of Art + Design and Public Policy, where he heads the Information Design and Visualization graduate program.
