This was a public talk via webcast on Friday, April 17 at 11am.

Please join Ramesh Raskar, Associate Professor at the MIT Media Lab, and head of the Camera Culture group, and Sandy Pentland, Professor at the MIT Media Lab, and head of the Human Dynamics group, for a live presentation on what governments can do for contact tracing, analytics, and restarting in wake of the Covid-19 crisis.

Projects include:

Safe Paths—an MIT-led, free, open source technology that enables jurisdictions and individuals to maximize privacy, while also maximizing the effectiveness of contact tracing in the case of a positive diagnosis for Covid-19. The Safe Paths platform, currently in beta, comprises both a smartphone application, PrivateKit, and a web application, Safe Places. The project is a multi-faculty, cross-MIT effort, with input and expertise from institutes including Harvard University, Stanford University, and SUNY Buffalo; clinical input from Mayo Clinic and Massachusetts General Hospital; and mentors from the World Health Organization, the US Department of Health and Human Services, and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.

We'll also be discussing Covid-19 analytics from the MIT-World Bank COVID Observatory and the effects of social distancing policy.

Following the presentations we will open it up for live questions and answers. You can submit questions before, and during the presentation via sli.do.
