Friday
October 25, 2019
10:00am — 2:00pm ET

With more than eight million visitors a year, tourism represents almost 46% of the economy of Andorra. By gathering and analyzing multiple and diverse data sources such as telecom and economic transactions, we can understand the country's dynamics of tourism and commerce as well as design interventions that can improve the experience for tourists, while simultaneously exploring the cultural and environmental implications of their travel.

Join representatives from The Andorra Innovation Hub, Carto (a computing platform that provides GIS, web mapping, and spatial data science tools) and the City Science team for a workshop to explore and brainstorm new ideas to map urban flows. Participants will be provided with multiple data sets and access to Carto’s mapping software. Workshop participants can engage with data and the mapping tool or theoretically explore new ideas related to mapping tourism, Andorra’s ecosystem, and/or the culture and environment of this unique country.
