Tod Machover — Music and AI: Threat or Blessing

Tod Machover—a pioneer at the intersection of music and technology for over 40 years and Faculty Director of the MIT Media Lab—will give a featured presentation on the present and future of AI and music at THE PROMISE OF MUSIC, the First World Congress on the Social Impact of Music.
Organized by The Glenn Gould Foundation, the congress will take place in Toronto from October 6–10.
In his presentation, Machover will explore the opportunities and risks of AI in music. Drawing on recent AI-infused compositions by himself and others, he will provide context for today’s AI music explosion and chart an adventurous path forward where humans and machines collaborate in inspiring, mutually enriching ways.
