3rd African Space Generation Workshop and 8th African Leadership Congress (30 November - 4 December, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia)

Dr. Minoo Rathnasabapathy gave a keynote presentation on utilizing space technologies for the sustainable development goals, and joined the Working Group on Space for SDGs as a Subject Matter Expert. Dr Rathnasabapathy additionally participated on the panel "Women in Space in Africa" highlighting the need for role models to inspire the next generation of female space professionals. 

The African Space Generation Workshop (AF-SGW) is a two-day regional workshop, which brings together students and young professionals with agency and industry representatives from across the African continent. It provided an unparalleled opportunity for the future leaders of Africa’s space endeavors to proactively establish strong relationships, exchange ideas and knowledge, and to collaborate on brainstorming new ideas and solutions using space technology for the benefit of Africa. 

The 8th African Leadership Congress (ALC) on Space Science and Technology for Sustainable Development around the prospects and challenges of African Space Development. The congress is aimed at capitalizing efforts of African nations on space technologies to address key socioeconomic challenges and harnessing the opportunities that space science and technology could provide.  The congress serves as a primary and empirical platform for political leaders, space agencies, space vendors, entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers and technologists, regional and international space institutions to come together to assess space programs in Africa; space research and development; space policy, strategy and implementation and participation of the youth and women in aerospace. http://aslc.essti.gov.et/
