都市が抱える様々な課題解決が求められる中、「スマートシティ」と呼ばれるテクノロジーのサポートによる新しい都市やまちづくりが世界各地で検討されています。パナソニック株式会社とMITメディアラボ シティサイエンスグループでは、特に住民参加型のまちづくりプロセスとモビリティに着目した共同研究を2018年～2020年に行いました。本プログラムでは、共同研究の取組みやパナソニック、シティサイエンスが取組むまちづくりプロジェクトの事例をご紹介すると共に、参加者の皆さんとのケーススタディを通し理解を深めて行きます。また、元客員研究員と博士課程研究者のラボでの実際の活動の様子についてもお話したいと思います。皆さんで、未来の街の姿やまちづくりの仕組みについて考えてみましょう。

With the need to solve various issues facing cities, new city and town planning with the support of technology, known as "smart cities," is being considered around the world. Panasonic Corporation and the City Science Group of the MIT Media Lab have conducted joint research from 2018 to 2020, with a particular focus on participatory urban planning processes and mobility. In this program, we will introduce the joint research efforts and case studies of urban development projects conducted by Panasonic and City Science, and deepen our understanding through case studies with participants. We will also talk about the actual activities of former visiting researchers and doctoral students in the lab. Let's think about the future of cities and the mechanisms of urban development together.
