On Sunday, 8/25, Glorianna Davenport and Responsive Environments group's Gershon Dublon and Brian Mayton are joining the Public Lab to do IR balloon mapping of the cranberry bog (and future wetland) site at Tidmarsh Farms. They hope to instrument the bog with a dense sensor network in the fall. The balloon mapping should help delineate areas of homogenous plant life on the bog that will form the basis for the sensor deployment. The ecologists working on the project are hoping that the sensors will capture climate or soil conditions that produce those distinct areas. This is the jumping-off point for a collaborative research initiative that will unfold over the next year.
