From August 25-26, 2026, Kent Larson and Luis Alonso, along with other members of the City Science Network, will participate in Hábitat LATAM, a regional encounter endorsed by UN-Habitat and one of the region's most important gatherings on sustainable urban development. The event will be hosted at the University of Guadalajara's Centro Cultural Universitario in Guadalajara, Mexico.
The event will bring together voices from across Latin America to explore how we design, inhabit, and transform cities for a more resilient and equitable future. From the perspective of City Science, the goal is to contribute to building solutions for the region's urban challenges. City Science Labs from the network will present ongoing research and tools related to mobility, housing, decentralized infrastructure, and participatory planning. Kent Larson will serve as a keynote speaker for the summit.
The University of Guadalajara will formally present the "Kent Larson" Chair, a significant milestone that will consolidate the structural link between the City Science Network and University of Guadalajara's new postgraduate programs, establishing permanent mechanisms for academic exchange and mentorship.
