Title:
Human-Material Interaction: Towards the vision of Radical Atoms

Description:
At the Tangible Media Group, we have been working to develop new materials with radically programmable forms, structures, and transformations, which we call “Radical Atoms.” Coupling “Atoms” with “Bits” enables “Human Material Interaction” as the future of HCI (Human-Computer Interaction). These are interfaces that harness the fidelity of human touch, the body’s ability to grasp and be grasped (touch and be touched), and the emotions that materials bring to mind. In this session, there will be a series of short presentations where we will present the new technologies we have been developing to realize this vision, followed by an open discussion. Through the communication of these ideas, we hope to find meaningful applications for these materials. We look forward to an exciting discussion.
