Space Enabled Director Danielle Wood will speak at Moriba's Vox Populi (voice of the people), hosted by Prof Moriba Jah of the University of Texas at Austin. Prof Jah holds is an Affiliated Researcher with the Space Enabled research group and a leading scholar in characterizing the behavior of objects orbiting the earth and defining paths toward sustainability and environmental protection in space. "Moriba's Vox Populi" is part of the Space Cafe webinar series hosted by SpaceWatch.Global. The series features global space experts and highlights timely topics for the space community.  

This session of Moriba's Vox Populi discusses Environmental Protection, Climate Change, and Orbital Space. The session will explore the following questions.

  • Why do many Climate Change discussions appear to exclude environmental protection?
  • Are environmental protection and climate change synonymous?
  • What anthropogenic inputs are there to the environmental impact on land, air, oceans, and space?
  • Is there a correlation that shows the interdependencies between the earth, air, ocean, and space environments? Is anyone doing the science to find out?
  • Do inequity, prejudice, culture, and other elements play a significant role in our environmental detriment, and how so?
  • What possible funding sources and resources are there to bring to bear on this wicked problem? What's missing and why?
