Danielle Wood and Katlyn Turner of Space Enabled, along with their co-author, Catherine D'Ignazio, will speak at the State of AI Ethics Panel to discuss the research of their recent article, "The Abuse and Misogynoir Playbook," which appeared in the January 2021 issue of the State of AI Ethics Report. The article about the Abuse and Misogynoir Playbook goes into detail about the recent firing of Dr. Timnit Gebru’s by Google, describes the Playbook tactics Google used, and puts the tactics in historical context. The article notes that contributions by other Black women, including Phillis Wheatley, Harriet Jacobs, Ida Wells and Zora Neale Hurston have faced a similar Playbook.
