Hosted by the MIT Media Lab, this fireside chat will feature Lt. General Shaw, the deputy commander of US Space Command; Dava Newman, the director of the Media Lab; and Ariel Ekblaw, director of the Space Exploration Initiative. They will discuss the US Air Force’s new GO Inspire Program, which aims to increase the diversity of Airmen and Guardians, and to inform, influence, and inspire young Americans.
This hybrid in-person and virtual event will highlight the importance of engaging young people from underrepresented backgrounds to inspire future leaders and drive culture change in the Air and Space Forces. The speakers will explore the challenges and opportunities in space, and the need for people with a wide variety of experiences and backgrounds to bring their creativity and intellectual skills to researching the space domain.
This will be a hybrid in-person and virtual event. If you are a member of the MIT community who is registered with Covid Pass, please join us in the lecture hall on the 6th floor of E14. Otherwise, please join us online via Zoom.
