Prof. Sarkar’s research group at MIT (https://web.mit.edu/deblina-sarkar/index.html) is seeking postdoc with extensive expertise in electrophysiology techniques as well as electrical spinal cord stimulation for treating neuropathic/chronic pain in rodents. Prof. Sarkar’s group develops wireless nanoelectronic devices which can be used for spatio-temporally precise electrical stimulation of spinal cord.
Extensive expertise with electrical recording and stimulation with electrodes in live animals (rodents) and characterization of its effect on chronic pain is a MUST. Patch Clamping (cultured cells and live slices) or fiber photometry or 2-photon calcium imaging or optogenetics skills are preferred but not absolutely required. Experience in studying neural plasticity with electrical stimulation is preferred but not required.
