Job

Postdoctoral Associate in Spinal Cord Stimulation and Electrophysiology for Chronic Pain - Nano-Cybernetic Biotrek

by Ryann Graves Sanchez

Nov. 27, 2024

Job Description

Prof. Sarkar’s research group at MIT (https://web.mit.edu/deblina-sarkar/index.html) is seeking postdoc with extensive expertise in electrophysiology techniques as well as electrical spinal cord stimulation for treating neuropathic/chronic pain in rodents. Prof. Sarkar’s group develops wireless nanoelectronic devices which can be used for spatio-temporally precise electrical stimulation of spinal cord.

Extensive expertise with electrical recording and stimulation with electrodes in live animals (rodents) and characterization of its effect on chronic pain is a MUST.  Patch Clamping (cultured cells and live slices) or fiber photometry or 2-photon calcium imaging or optogenetics skills are preferred but not absolutely required. Experience in studying neural plasticity with electrical stimulation is preferred but not required.

Note: Add a separate section for "Skills" in your CV mentioning list of in vivo, in vitro and other scientific/technical skills.

We are looking to fill this position soon. So, apply ASAP.
