Job Description

The Nano-Cybernetic Biotrek research group is developing extremely miniaturized micro-nano-devices that probe and electrically modulate our biological system especially the brain. We are seeking postdocs who will configure and implement these devices for brain/spinal cord stimulation and recording in healthy mice/rats as well as models of neurological diseases such a Neuropathic Pain, Alzheimer's, Traumatic Brain Injury and Stroke, etc.

We are looking to fill up this position soon, so apply ASAP.

This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of extension based on the course of the research.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement research projects;
• Perform research to characterize and validate the devices in cultured neurons;
• Inject or implant the devices in mouse brain/spinal cord or peripheral nervous system (PNS);
• Characterize and validate the devices in-vivo in mice/rats;
• Perform stimulation and/or recording of central nervous system (CNS);
• Demonstrate application in case of above mentioned diseases.

Qualifications

• PhD in bioengineering, neuroscience, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, mechanical/ electrical/electronics engineering, physics, or relevant field;
• Experience with Neuropathic Pain, Alzheimer's, Traumatic Brain Injury or Stroke;
• Experience with mouse surgery, stereotactic injections and implanting electrodes or fiber photometry;
• Experience in stimulation and/or recording from mice/rats brain;
• Experience in validation of stimulation and/or recording;
• Experience with testing animal behavior;
• Experience with cultured cells.

PREFERRED:

• Experience with stem cells, 3D cultures and organoids;
