Investigating How Diurnal Rhythms in Physiology Relate to Stress and Wellbeing

Seonmi219

Wearable devices allow us to continuously and passively record elements of our physiology (e.g., electrodermal activity, skin temperature) as we go about our daily routines. We study how daily patterns in these physiological measures relate to different factors of our wellbeing (e.g., stress).

Using a dataset of over 300 office workers who provided their data for 3+ months, we characterize daily patterns of physiology (skin conductance level, number of skin conductance responses, skin temperature, etc.) and investigate how they associate with self-reported stress measured by the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS).

Joint work with NEC and Terumi Umematsu.
