GPS is transforming how we live globally, but not locally. To bring the same capability for three-dimensional positioning indoors, we are developing RF systems that can make picosecond timing measurements on signals with a wavelength on the order of the size of a building, thereby providing coupling without being perturbed by the internal structure.
