Jason Hou, a PhD candidate in the Conformable Decoders group, has been selected as one of the inaugural MIT Health and Life Sciences Collaborative (HEALS) Graduate Fellows, joining a cohort of ~30 MIT grad students advancing cross-disciplinary work in health and life sciences.

Through the fellowship, Hou will continue developing implanted ultrasound neurotechnologies and augmented reality tools for next-generation 4D ultrasound imaging. His work bridges engineering, neuroscience, and human-centered design to rethink how we image and interact with the body.

MIT HEALS supports researchers tackling critical challenges across diagnostics, brain health, public health, and more—connecting disciplines to accelerate real-world impact.
