Yes! All accepted MAS students (international and domestic) are offered full funding. MAS students receive a monthly stipend and have their tuition/insurance covered.
IELTS/TOEFL can be waived by the department under certain circumstances: (1) if English was the primary language of instruction in primary and secondary school or university (2) if you have been working in the US for two years and/or will have received a degree from an American institution before entering MIT.
If you meet either of the above requirements for an IELTS/TOEFL waiver you will automatically receive one after entering your information into the online application and you will not need to complete the test scores section.
If you are registered for an exam before the admissions deadline, this will not be a problem. Make sure you use the electronic code for MIT Graduate Admissions, your test results will be routed directly to your application as soon as they arrive.
As soon as a student accepts admission, MAS will reach out to them about working with the MIT International Students Office. For more information on visas and International Student life at MIT, please check out the ISO page. ISO will not be able to answer questions about individual situations until a student is accepted into the program.
