The Agents of Change recently hosted Dr. Ufuoma Ovienmhada to discuss environmental injustice at prisons across the U.S. Ovienmhada is part of the program's 2024 fellow cohort. Formed through the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University and Environmental Health News, Agents of Change in Environmental Justice works to foster diverse and inclusive leaders in environmental justice who can help create systemic change by integrating the best available science and technology with the intergenerational knowledge of communities who have been disproportionately harmed by environmental degradation and historically excluded from decision-making because of racism, classism, and other systems of oppression.
